Peoria Home Tax Revaluation Season Starting
As with many counties around the state, Peoria County recently mailed out its real estate tax bills.
Although some taxes may have increased, there will be no new taxing districts, according to a recent article in The Peoria Journal Star.
From the 82,775 bills that Peoria County sent out, officials expect to collect $275 million, which will then be distributed to 140 taxing bodies.
Peoria residents can review how tax bills have changed over time. The Peoria County Clerk’s Office posted all tax computation reports for each taxing district since 1998. These postings show tax levies, tax rates, equalized assessed values and total tax extensions.
