Living in Peoria, Illinois Area
Residents in the Copperfield neighborhood of Dunlap, Illinois, recently presented a check for $3,200 to the Dunlap Village Board to construct a new playground in the community.
According to the article, the check was part of the Coppperfield Homeowners’ Association’s promise to pay $12,000 for the project.
The group had already paid $8,800 to help pay for the playground’s concrete work.
Residents and village officials alike praised the partnership for helping to build something that both encourages children to exercise and beautifies the community.
“It’s great to drive by and see the kids out there playing, especially when they could be sitting in front of the TV or playing video games. It’s nice to look at and it’s easy access for all of us who live there,” one resident told the newspaper.
Relocating to the Peoria, Illinois Area
Considering that as much as a third of American children are obese, I truly find it touching that one local community decided to invest the time and effort to construct a playground in the community.
Community projects like the one recently completed in Dunlap, Illinois are not uncommon for the greater Peoria Illinois area.
Home owners here take great pride in building a strong sense of community as well as providing plenty of educational and recreational opportunities for children in the area.
