Relocating to Peoria, Illinois

In the Milken Institute’s recent survey, the Greater Peoria Region ranked the highest among all other Illinois cities.

What’s more, there were only five Midwestern cities that ranked higher than Peoria on the list!

Here are some of the factors that the institute considered when making the list:

  • Job creation and retention
  • Economic growth
  • Job wages and salary
  • Technology growth
  • And more!

Here are some of Peoria’s statistics on these important quality of life factors.  For the purposes of the ranking, all factors were compared to a U.S. average of 100 for each category:

  • 5 Year job growth rate between 2005 and 2010: 101.67
  • 1 Year job growth rate between 2009 and 2010: 100.52
  • 5 year wages and salaries growth between 2004 and 2009:106.19
  • 1 Year wage and salaries growth between 2008 and 2009: 99.4

Investing in Peoria, Illinois Real Estate

Peoria area home owners should be proud of the recent rankings on the Best-Performing Cities survey from the Milken Institute.

That’s because this survey paints a picture of the overall health of the local economy. And given our community’s 19 spot climb this year, all residents can rest assured that our local economy is doing a relatively good job of thriving in this sluggish national economy.
